Government guidance update: moving to Step 4 of the COVID-19 roadmap in England from Monday 19 July

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer so far?

Following guidance from our governing body EMD UK, and with the government moving to Step 4 of the COVID-19 roadmap in England from Monday 19th July, please take a few moments to read the below.

We recognise that while the legal limits on social contact and distancing are being removed, please note certain precautions will remain in place to minimise transmission of the virus in our venues.

Following a review and update of our health and safety risk assessments and working together with our venues, and Jazzercise UK, Jazzercise Cambourne and Peterborough will be taking a very cautious approach to moving to Step 4.

Ventilation

Fresh air ventilation is one of the best ways to reduce the risk of transmission indoors. We will, where possible continue to have ventilation in all our venues, such as open doors, windows, air conditioning and open air vents where possible.

Cleaning and Hygiene

Our venues will continue to maintain the enhanced hygiene and cleaning regimes established during the pandemic. In addition, our instructors and class managers regularly clean surfaces (especially high traffic areas), and we will continue to provide hand sanitiser.

We encourage everyone to continue to sanitise and wash their hands frequently.

Occupancy and Social Distancing

While there are no longer any legal requirements for social distancing, we recommend that customers keep their distance from each other wherever possible.

The capacity limits for indoor facilities will no longer be in place from the 19th July, however Jazzercise Cambourne and Peterborough will continue to have a capacity limit and we will continue to use Punchpass to book in person classes.

We will be able to increase class numbers slightly as the 2 metre rule is no longer in place, but we do want to take a sensible approach to prevent overcrowding in our venues.

Face Coverings

The legal requirement to wear face coverings will be lifted from Monday 19th July, and customers have never been required to wear face coverings while taking part in our classes.

We would still encourage the use of face coverings before and after class, this is a recommendation only.

NHS Test and Trace

While it is no longer a legal requirement, we would still encourage you to use the NHS Test and Trace app when you attend class, QR codes are on display in venues that are using the system, we encourage this to support the test and trace system and for customers who wish to continue using it.

Where track and trace is not available, please note all of our in person class attendance is also recorded in accordance with GDPR regulations, and providing data to NHS Test and Trace if requested.

As before, if you have symptoms or feel unwell please do not attend an in-person class and follow government guidance as appropriate.

Please message me if you have any further questions.

See you on the dance floor.

Gary and the team at Jazzercise Cambourne and Peterborough.
